RMR Real Estate Income Fund Announces that It Has Discontinued Fitch Ratings' Engagement to Rate Its Auction Rate Preferred Shares

NEWTON, Mass., Apr 05, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- RMR Real Estate Income Fund (NYSE Amex: RIF) announced today that itsBoard of Trustees has determined to discontinue Fitch Ratings' ("Fitch")engagement to rate RIF's auction rate preferred shares ("ARPS"). RIFintends to continue using the rating services provided by Moody'sInvestors Service ("Moody's"), which continues to rate RIF's ARPS "Aaa,"its highest rating category. RIF's Board of Trustees determined todiscontinue Fitch's engagement after careful consideration of therelative costs and benefits of retaining Fitch. Accordingly, RIF hasrequested that Fitch withdraw its ratings on the ARPS. At the time ofRIF's request, Fitch continued to rate RIF's ARPS "AA" and Fitch had notindicated any intent to modify such rating. RIF's ARPS continue to besubject to the asset coverage and other requirements contained in theInvestment Company Act of 1940 and Moody's rating criteria.
